Obituary for Maria "Lou" Dono

Mrs. Maria “Lou” deLourdes Frade Dono, 88, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 8th surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Dono was born on June 21, 1929 in Ilhavo, Portugal. She came to the United States in October 1937, and resided in the Ironbound Section of Newark. Prior to working at Western Electric in Kearny, she worked as a seamstress for a sewing company in Elizabeth.

Mrs. Dono is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Dono, her parents Joao Frade and Ana Rosa DeJesus, her sister Maria Eduarda Monteiro, and her brother John O. Frade. She is survived by her daughter Ann Marie Madail and son-in-law, John, her son Manuel F. Dono and daughter-in-law, Rose Ann, cherished grandchildren Andrea and Christopher Grabowski, Renee’ and Robert DeBlock, Alisha and Nicholas Dono, great-granddaughter Julia Belem DeBlock, her
sister-in-law Joyce Frade, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Funeral on Friday, August 11th at 8:30 am at the Buyus Funeral Home, 426 Lafayette St., at Wilson Ave., Newark. Thence to St. James Church, Newark where at 9:30 am the Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Newark. Visitation, Thursday, August 10th from 4-8 pm.
