Obituary for Kathleen Saratella

Kathleen “Kathy” (Nee Marano) Saratella ,68, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingtson, NJ. She was born in Aberdeen, Washington, grew up in the Ironbound Section of Newark, lived in Harrison, NJ before moving to Livingston in 1990.

Kathleen was a Teacher for the Newark Board of Education and taught at Hawkins Street School for the entire 35 years of her career, retiring in 2003.

Beloved wife of Carl Victor ”Dickie Boy” Saratella; Daughter of Albert Marano and the late Joan (Nee Rizzo); devoted and loving mother of Victor Saratella of Needham, MA and Carla Michele Saratella; Sister of the late Karen Cifuentes and her husband Renato; dear sister-in-law of Rose “ Suggie” Teixeira and her husband Mario; cherished grandmother of Will, Joey, Paige and Charlie Saratella.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 10th at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Newark. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

Visitation for Kathleen will be held on Friday, February 9th from 4- 8 pm.
