Obituary for Jorge F. Da Silva

Jorge (George) Ferreira da Silva, 58, of Kearny, NJ, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. He was born in Covoes, Cantanhede, Portugal and came to the US in July 1969.

George was the owner of Georges Catering for 40 years.

Beloved husband of Gail Madelyn Tice Da Silva; devoted and loving father of George Da Silva, Jr and his wife Victoria, Christopher Da Silva, Jonathan Da Silva and his wife Emily, Vanessa Da Silva, Nathan Da Silva, Ashley Da Silva and Timothy Da Silva; dear brother of Ceu, Lina, Fatima, Denis, Alice and Carlos; cherished grandfather of Hazel Amelia Silva, Jayden Jonas Da Silva-Ross. Also survived by many dear relatives.

The Funeral Mass for George will be offered on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 11:15 am at St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny, NJ. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.

Visitation for George will be held on Wednesday, August 15th, from 5 – 8 pm at the Buyus Funeral Home, 426 Lafayette Street at Wilson Avenue, Newark, NJ.
